Oil of Oregano

In progress!!

Right now I use North American Herb & Spice Oreganol P73, which I heard (from the two women in the supplement departement at the health food store) is the best.  However, they just recently learned that the Gaia brand is also top quality. I have to do more research on that one.

To be effective and edible the oil must be made only from wild, mountain-grown, Mediterranean oregano, free of all chemicals and pesticides. It also has to be emulsified in a carrier oil, such as extra virgin olive oil. The oil should be produced by old-fashioned cold pressing and steam distillation.

Some uses of oil of oregano are:

  • fighting yeast, fungus (skin and blood-born)
  • knocking out allergies, hay fever, and sinusitis
  • stopping infections (cold and flu
